Is Roadclub free?
Yes, Roadclub is 100% free with no ads and no in-app purchases.
Roadclub is built by Cambridge Mobile Telematics, a company based in Cambridge, MA on a mission to make the world’s roads and drivers safer. Because we primarily sell our tech to big companies, we can offer Roadclub to the public for free.
What countries is Roadclub available in?
Roadclub is currently available in the United States.
Does the app use my phone data?
Yes, the app uses some phone data to process and score your trip results. The app uploads about 400-500 kilobytes per hour of driving.
How does the app know whether I’m a driver or passenger?
Roadclub uses your phone's sensors to determine this along with contextual signals, the app is able to determine whether you were a driver or passenger.
How do I set or reset my password?
Roadclub emails you a 4-digit, randomly generated number instead of needing you to create and remember a password.
Rewards / How it Works
How do I earn rewards?
You earn points every day by driving safely. The more points you keep, the more rewards you can redeem. Just drive at least 5 miles a day to qualify.
How does my driving behavior impact my rewards?
Each day, you start with a set of points. Risky behaviors like phone use, hard braking, or speeding can lower the number of points you keep. The safer you drive, the more points you hold onto and the more rewards you can earn.
How do I redeem my rewards balance?
Withdraw your rewards by following the steps below.
1. From the home screen, tap the rewards card balance or tap on the Rewards tab in the bottom navigation.
2. Select the amount and how you’d like to withdraw your rewards.
3. Double check the amount and type of reward.
4. Tap Redeem and check your email address.
What driving behaviors impact my score or rewards?
The following driving behaviors impact your eligibility to earn rewards each week in RoadClub:
Braking
Hard, sudden stops can cause you to lose points. Brake smoothly to stay safer and keep more of what you’ve earned.
Distraction
Using your phone while the car is moving can lead to point loss. Keep your screen off, stationary and eyes on the road to hold onto your rewards.
Speeding
We look at how fast you’re driving compared to others on the same road. Driving significantly faster can reduce your points, so staying with the flow helps you stay in the green.
How does the app know whether I’m a driver or passenger?

Is there a limit on the amount of money I can earn?
You earn points for safe driving, which you can redeem for gift cards and other rewards. There’s no lifetime cap, but daily limits and yearly limits apply to help keep things fair.

When do I receive my points?
Points are added based on when and how you earn them:
Daily Points: Deposited at 12am local time the following day, if you drove safely and met the minimum mileage.
Weeks run from Sunday to Saturday. Only qualifying trips or challenges earn points.
How do I redeem my rewards balance?
You can redeem your points for gift cards directly in the app. Here's how:
1. Tap your points balance on the home screen or go to the Rewards tab.
2. Choose your gift card and see how many points are needed.
3. Select the amount, confirm the details, and tap Redeem.
4. Your gift card will be sent to your email shortly after.
You’ll always see the point-to-dollar value before redeeming.
What kind of rewards can I earn?
Roadclub users can cash in their rewards for their choice of over 25 different types of gift cards or Visa prepaid cards.
How long does it take to receive my redeemed reward?
Roadclub users can cash in their rewards for their choice of over 25 different types of gift cards or Visa prepaid cards.
Do my points expire?
As long as your account is active and in good standing, points never expire. The points you’ve earned only leave your account when you redeem your points for a reward.
Can I transfer my rewards to Paypal or Venmo?
No, at this time you may only redeem your rewards through one of our gift card vendors.
Trip Recording
How does RoadClub know if I’m the driver or a passenger?
RoadClub uses your phone’s sensors, like GPS and motion data, to figure out whether you're behind the wheel or just along for the ride. It analyzes how your phone moves, how the car behaves, and learns from your patterns over time to improve accuracy.
If a trip seems misclassified, you can update it in the app, but only on the day the trip takes place. After that, it's locked in.
How many trips can I relabel per day?
You can relabel one trip per day. Make sure to review it on the same day the trip takes place.
Account Management
How do I set or reset my password?

How do I delete my account?
If you'd like to delete your RoadClub account, please submit a request through the app by navigating to the More tab, selecting Account and then tapping on “Request Account Deletion”.
Accounts are deleted within 24 hours of receiving the request.
Can I still access my rewards balance if my account is deleted?
No, once your account is deleted, any remaining rewards balance is forfeited. You can still access any rewards that you’ve redeemed.

We take privacy very, very seriously. We DO NOT sell or share your personal information with 3rd parties. Period.
How do I delete my account?
If you'd like to delete your Roadclub account, please send a request to support@roadclub.com.
